Greetings to all.

I normally don't pay a lot of attention to all of the Sports Betting folks, but I do occasionally listen to this "Adam Wins" guy who comes on the Feenbum radio show on Fridays during the College Football season.

Anywho, I downloaded his interview from yesterday afternoon, and he indicated that Bama may very well LOSE today's game against the Fightin' JoePas.

And since he's usually pretty high on both Bama & Coach Saban, his prediction has me just a tad concerned about the likelihood of an *upset* today, even though Bama's defense ought to be able to turn back PSU's offense rather handily.

I don't subscribe to this "Adam Wins" betting service, so I really don't know the explicit factors that went into his prediction. But he *does* have a pretty good record, and I'm wondering if he might have picked up a few important tidbits from the folks up in PA.

One would think that Bama's clear inexperience at the QB position would be a major factor in his pick. In fact, if I was on the PSU defensive staff, I would REALLY load up to stop Bama's running game & try to bring the heat on AJ as much as possible, thus forcing our young QB to win the game "on his arm". Also, a messy/rainy field would be another important factor, although the latest weather report seems to indicate that some rain probably won't hit until after the game.

So, just wondering what some of you regular/experienced gamblers thought about this guy's Bama/PSU prediction. He turned out to be correct in his prediction about Florida Int. beating Louisville, so I certainly hope he's very WRONG about the upcoming Bama game.

Thanks for any legit input.

1.) The concern comes from NO ONE knows what to expect from 'Bama on offense.

2.) Plus, there aren't a lot of upset match ups this week.

3.) Some people are going to reach or pick this game. Penn State used to play 'Bama very hard.

4.) We have a lot of unknown pieces: DeAndrew White, Cyrus Kouandjio Eddy Lacy (as a starter in 2 deep)

5.) Rainy games can change games. (However, as much as 'Bama runs...shouldnt be THAT bad)

I think all these things contribute to the uneasy feeling for some 'Bama fans.

I have heard of him, a radio station in Nashville I used to listen to had his picks, he's pretty good.

To be honest though, it doesn't take a good gambler to realize this has upset potential. Everyone expects Bama to win, no one expects Penn State to win. It's at Happy Valley. Bad weather conditions are expected, and even if it doesn't rain, the field is still going to be sloppy from all of the rain....a road game in a hostile stadium for a quarterback who has never played a full game in college.

With all that said, I still think Bama wins, I just don't know that they will cover.

Thanks for the replies, guys.

Although I do expect the Tide to roll, it's VERY clear that the PSU players & fans really wanna pull off the big upset. And if they can rattle our young QB early in the game & possibly force some turnovers, it could make for a very tough battle today.

Bama's receiving corps needs to have some very sure hands in the early going, and a couple of quick scores would do a lot to quiet down that massive home crowd that's gonna show up in Beaver Stadium.

Hope that the Bama "D" REALLY has a terrific game today.
