Just heard on Mississippi sports this morning that om plans on announcing this tonight. This will match the 150 million that state has spent on athletic marketing.

Plans are to build a 10k seat arena in 4-5 years and expand our stadium to >70k.

Can't wait till that big football expansion. Pete must love empty seats.

Is that the Houston Nutt buyout? Platinum Handcuffs this time?

With the stadium expansion I wonder if they will make the "SEC WEST CHAMPS" banner bigger?

Money talks. Hope it'll be the start of something.

That's 300 million for the poorest state in the nation. 90,000 season tickets sold between the two schools. Says a lot about the spirit of MSU/OM football that in this economy we are going forward and trying to compete in this meat grinder

This is Ole Miss' problem. They're happy to just match State.

The sports arms race between Ole Miss and State will bankrupt an already poor state. Neither will be able to keep up just like the Soviet Union did.

Very good interviews with Boone and Nutt from a Memphis reporter about the campaign, future in athletics and billboards

Answers a lot of questions asked in this thread.
Also in OM news the writer of "True Blood" just joined our English department. Looks like we might have some vampires on the square. Very good "Are You Ready" opportunities for Halloween games

Mike Thompson just told me it's huge "plaza" facing the grove not "plasma". Our new beat writer messed that up. And my guess for who the statue is of in front of the new arena is Tadd Smith. We got to do something in his rememberence since we're tearing down his colliseum.
