Explain how it can happen

I whipped this horse to death within a different thread but would like a wider audience to chime in.
Can someone give an example of how in the hell the Big 12 'champ' can land themselves in the BCSNC without the Big 10, Pac or SEC champ having 2+ losses.
It's my opinion that A&M, OU or Texas will be crying us a river come this January and every January to come. The Big 12 'champ' will have an embarrassing strength of schedule with no conference title game to toss on the resume.
Does a 12-0 name brand like Texas or OU have the clout to jump a 0 or 1 loss SEC squad? Big 10? Pac-whatever?
Living in Austin and listening to sports radio everyday makes me wonder why they think the Big 12 can earn anything more than a #3 seeding and an irrelevant BCS bowl.

If OU is 12-0, they're in. Simple as that. They're starting in the top two.

If OU beats FSU then I could see it happening.

Why is an Arkansas fan making this thread?

Over a 13-0 or 12-1 SEC, Pac or Big 10 champion?
It would be a travesty.

He just figured out if they would have stayed in the conference with the Texas schools, they would have an easier time making it to the BCSNCG.

They're starting out at least #2 in the polls. No one is going to jump them, if they go 12-0. Certainly not a one loss team. The only controversy that will result is if there are more than two undefeated BCS teams.

I think I'm saying the exact opposite about that conference. It is impossible.

Why is a Georgia fan posting in this thread? Possibly the most underachieving program the SEC has in the last 25+ years

Yes, the only two undefeated in the Big 12-2 to jump another 1 or 2 loss conference team would be OU and Texas, imo.

The irony of this post is amazing.

You're not very smart are you?

You can use any combination here, but going into conference championship week, not allowing the conference champion sitting at #3 to jump a #2 OU would be outlandish.

If all OU has to do is start out at 1 in a human poll, what good is the BCS formula?

The polls are largely irrelevant; OU won't be #1 when the first BCS rankings come out.

I don't know how you can even say that. Hell, they were #1 in the first rankings last year.

Maybe I'm alone in my thinking but I see 3 conference champions (Pac, Big 10, SEC) all deserving of that #1 and #2 spot. Someone will get left out as is.
To grant that #1 or #2 spot to a 4th team that didn't even play a conference title game, seems absurd.

They play at least three top ten teams along the way. They start in the top two. That's going to more than likely suffice, if they remain unbeaten.

probably true, but an undefeated pac and sec champion should go in 100% of the time ahead of them.

What if Bama is at #3 going into and winning the SECCG with a SOS in the Top 5 or 10.
Will you be ok watching OU play for the BCSNC with a far inferior SOS and no conference title game.
Come on.....
