I'll be honest as I can.
LSU had a better team in both 2007 and 2010 and honestly they underachieved with both.
I think Miles is an unorganized goofball who has a different way of getting players motivated. He's the anti-Saban. It seems like everything is done on a whim and decisions made on a hunch.
It'll catch up to him at some point.
I think it's more of a reflection of how great the football and athletes in the state of Louisiana are than how good a coach Les Miles is.

How can you underachieve with a national championship? And with an 11-2 record?
Seems to me that, for some reason, Miles is just held to a much higher standard then any other football coach in the country where a national championship with a 12-2 record and another 11-2 record is considered 'underachieving.' Apparently, winning isn't enough for him to be considered a 'good' coach, he has to win every game in a blowout to be considered 'good'

A handful of games doesn't equal 'everything'

Isn't winning the goal of a head coach? Hell, Miles won 11 games with a dead last passing game, offensive coordinator that was bat shite crazy, and a QB who has problems passing.

Of course you do. You don't want to admit he is a great coach. There are so many variable that go in to making a great head coach, you can't say because miles seems "to do things on a whim" that he doesn't get credit for LSU succeeding. Those comments just show you lack of depth in football knowledge

This shows you have no idea what you are talking about. Also, you don't win 62 games in six years and a national title without being a good coach. Thanks for exposing your limited knowledge about football.

You keep thinking that.

Oh,for Pete's sakes. Yep,Louisiana high school players are so amazing they need zero coaching in college,no game plan, etc.
Alabama HS football is pretty impressive, too. I guess Alabama's talent alone makes Saban overrated.

Again... Archer, Hallman, and yes, DiNardo.
Edit: Also, according to many pundits, Alabama is raking in the most talent most years, not LSU.

2010? underachieved in light of how bad the QB play was?
I don't see that argument. 11 wins was borderline remarkable with the near absence of QB play last year

Miles is 6 years into coaching in the best division and best conference in college football. Luck or chance will only carry you so far
it isn't even worth arguing about really - when you've coached for almost 80 games and you have a record of 62-17 (.785) in the SEC West - it is no longer debatable
Obviously Nick Saban is a tremendous coach - I won't harp on that because I don't think anyone is disputing that

So how do you explain this year when LSU has half the players on the All-Sec Team that Arkansas does but they are still ranked higher in every pre-season poll(top 5) by media and coaches alike?
We know that can't possibly be media and coaches figuring Miles will be Coaching them boys up cause everybody know Miles doesn't coach, he just draws plays in the sand with a stick.
You can't have it both ways, so which one is it?
