East Cobb Baseball

Who "owns" this area in college baseball recruiting currently? I am not really up to date in college baseball. Does anyone know?
I am asking because I have heard Serrano talk a few times and he is always stressing that East Cobb and the state of Tennessee will be their prep pipelines, and California for JUCO kids.

Nobody
It goes like this normally
1. Ga Tech
2. UGA
Then whoever else can get who is left, Bama usually pulls a few more than the rest of the SEC and the other SEC schools grab a few
UT has blown dick at recruiting since Raleigh was there, Serrano will pick it up, but it is hard to recruit at UT for baseball because the support and facilities aren't anywhere near what the rest of the SEC has

Atlanta Braves, UGA, GT. Moreso GT than UGA.

I am guessing there is some really good baseball played here? Good high school teams?

Best summer baseball in the country
Best facility for a summer program in the country bar none
Metro Atl produces baseball players like no other

I guess it's the same for Braves and GT: East Cobb Baseball=success during regular season, flame out during post season

There isn't a better youth baseball organization in the country than East Cobb Baseball. Kids from out of state commute to play with East Cobb because of the notoriety and level of competition. Gt and UGA can pretty much take their pick of the litter so to speak.

Eh, UGA can't really but GT usually can unless a kid really hates the female situation there

Oh, I'm well aware. I have many friends who play or have played EC baseball. But I still find it to be a strange coincidence about the post-season

With our renovations, facilities are upper middle pack in the SEC from what's been said here.
Although you're correct there is really no fan support at all.
Serrano's apparently pretty serious about getting into East Cobb though, because every single interview I've heard since he was hired he has either been there or talked about being there.

He will have a chance
It will hard to get the top tier ECB guys in the beginning because UT has been so shitty the last few years
But he can offer playing time early which is good and Knoxville is a cool place
We always had a big tourney in Knoxville every summer before the WWBA that Delmonico ran and Raleigh killed that which put a big damper on UT recruiting at ECB because the kids just never got the exposure to it

They can. Trust me. UGA recruits nationally as well.
Current or former Dawgs off the top of my head that played ECB
Gordon Beckham
Stephen Dodson
Kevin Ruiz
Patrick Boling
Chase Davidson
Jonathon Taylor
Kyle Farmer
Blake Deiterich
Conor Welton
Ryan Peisel
Trevor Holder
Michael Demperio
Just to name a few

Raleigh was the worst coach I have ever seen in any sport. Not a single person liked him or thought he would do a good job. He was also a terrible baseball coach.
Serrano seems to have put together a great staff and has raised the excitement level for baseball in Knoxville somewhat at least.
All the MLB alums hated Raleigh as well. Serrano has reached out to Todd Helton, RA Dickey, Chase Headley, JP Arencibia, Luke Hochevar, Julio Borbon, etc. and they are playing in an alumni game on a college football Saturday this fall.
I am going to try to get into college baseball this upcoming season.

You said pick of the litter
I am related to one of those you just listed
Ga Tech has always had the pick of who they wanted out of ECB because the coach of the EC Yankees funnels the kids to GT

Does Gary Baldwin still coach(run shite) there? It's been a while since I've had anything to do with East Cobb.
I played in the organiztion back in the late 90's and my brother played a couple years before me. Some serious talent there.
Corey Patterson was the best high school player I ever saw/played against. He had unbelievable power for someone his size not to mention he'd regularly beat out routine ground balls for singles.

Braves....GT.....UGA
UGA could probably do a lot better, but people fricking hate Perno.
I went to school with several of those guys you listed and I don't think a single one had a kind word to say about him.

I was talking about GT too. I acknowledge that GT recruits better out of East Cobb, but to say that UGA can't recruit out of there is dumb, hence, the list I made.

He has a terrible reputation in the Atlanta area, which is why he has to resort to recruiting outside the state for the most part. And he does REALLY well.
