He was named head of officials this past January so I guess he won't be on the field any more

I guess I was wrong, he was just named to an in office position. And yes, mine as well.

He worked last season, but after he did the Rose Bowl he took the job as head of SEC officials.

i guess you can look at it one of two ways----
1.) whoever gets promoted to Referee will suck and this can be a disaster by adding another crappy official to the field
2.) the fact that he is now the head of the SEC officials, they will be held to a very high standard and it will greatly improve officiating in the conference
only time will tell

Shaw is the best the SEC has had in a very, very, very long time.
I wish he would have been able to call our games.

SEC officiating blows. It needs a complete overhaul IMO.

Shaw's crew is the only competent crew in the SEC. This sucks.

I wonder what that position pays because he walked away from a VERY lucrative job here at AT&T. He was my boss for about a year.
