So if someone destroys a building or something of equal cost, and its going to be expensive, would you say, no jail time as well. For instance, what if someone burned your house down, what would you want done to them?

Yes they are different, but from a monetary prospective, 2 x 130 year old oaks and the infrastructure needed to take out, repair soil, and replace is not really all that different.
