I'm alive, my friend. Thank you for the email. I was actually downtown when that big son of a bitch tore through fultondale and gardendale. I saw it out of my office window and I still can't believe it. My kids were at two different places and I was watching the news as two tornadoes were headed for both of them in separate cities while that monstrosity was headed toward me. We all made it out alive. I feel soo fortunate. I really don't have the words for how I feel right now. This is just unreal devastation around here. I hope you and your family are all well.

I see you live in Vestavia. I'm from there. My parents still live there but I live north of Bham up Corridor X where my wife is from. Last night after I left work at about 9:30 or so, I headed to Daniel Payne and it was totally blocked. I turned around and headed back to my parents house and had to go down Altadena because Rocky Ridge was closed. Holy shite. That damage wasn't even from the tornadoes. I couldn't believe what that street looked like.

By the way, went back down Daniel Payne today...sheesh. Trees were sawed in half on the south side of it. Either that F5 must have gone through there or another tornado was down. I can't believe it didn't hit the Flying J.

I'm alright. My roommate saw the tornado from where I live. I was in the basement of gorgas library when it hit which is probably a mile from where it destroyed 15th street. I'm in B'ham right now at a friends house because power is out at our place. The management at the apartment complex I live in says the power will be out for six weeks... Don't know what's going to happen.
