Looking at how teams did the season after their NC and it appears most are fairly consistent. I suppose because the programs were established and built for success. I've a feeling that mold will be broken after this past year though. Odd that after 20 yrs, one team is a blip on the radar and will likely look like it was an anomoly. Some might even be suspect in thinking it was bought and paid for. Perhaps.

Below are the NC years, Team to win, Following year, that ranking and record after the NC year.

1990 Colorado - 1991 20th 8-3-1
1991 Miami - 1992 3rd 11-1
1992 Alabama - 1993 14th 9-3-1
1993 Fla St - 1994 4th 10-1-1
1994 Nebraska - 1995 Repeat
1995 Nebraska - 1996 6th 11-2
1996 Florida - 1997 4th 10-2
1997 Michigan - 1998 12th 10-3
1998 Tennessee - 1999 9th 9-3
1999 Fla St - 2000 5th 11-2
2000 Oklahoma - 2001 6th 11-2
2001 Miami - 2002 2nd 12-1
2002 Ohio St - 2003 4th 11-2
2003 Lsu - 2004 16th 9-3
2004 USC - 2005 2nd 12-1
2005 Texas - 2006 13th 10-3
2006 Florida - 2007 16th 9-4
2007 Lsu - 2008 unranked 8-5
2008 Florida - 2009 3rd 13-1
2009 Alabama - 2011 11th 10-3
2010 Auburn - 2011 (probably unranked, possibly no bowl game)

Speaking strictly from a win/loss point of view. They may make a Bowl game, however, they could finish with a losing record. The first to do it in the modern era.

AU could very well finish worse than any team on that list. I think they win between 6-8 games.

I see their season going more like the '08 LSU team.

So as long as Auburn falls somewhere in the "fairly consistent" range of anywhere between repeating and losing 5 games no blip or anomaly, right?

Seeing as they had to come from behind in 8 games this past season, with Cam, Fairley and 22 seniors on the team and only returning 5 starters total, I can see alot worse.

Only sure wins:

Utah St
Florida Atlantic
Samford

Toss ups:

Miss St
Ole Miss (leaning sure win)

Probably losses:

@ Clemson
@ South Carolina
@ Arkansas
Florida
@ Lsu
@ Georgia
Bama

Only one team has lost 5 games, and only one has lost 4 games. Auburn could easily lose up to 7.

Will this be the third year where people predict Auburn to be horrible yet we end up being much better than expected!

Stay tuned

If that makes you feel better. It makes me feel better to point out your state of being a douche-nozzle.

Someone really is going to have to explain to me what people see in Clemson going into next year.

They were a spear in the back of the QB from beating yall last year. They return more than yall do, and it's in their place.

Nothing. If you're knowledgeable about football around the country, you know Clemson lost a ton of key players on both sides of the ball and AU will more than likely beat them.
