I don't get what is so shocking about needing/wanting a stromile swift type player to turn things around.

Neither bass, Davis, lloreda were like stro but they turned LSU hoops into a very respectable opponent.

Unfortunately what we have now has turned LSU into a laughing stock and that's not right.

And you cite Bass and Davis like those have existed in LA recently. Gathers is of that caliber IMO. But he's still another year away.

Of course we need a guy that will be an NBA pick, that goes without saying. Yet, people still post "we need a (insert top NBA player) like they are breaking posting ground with this news. We know we need better players. But it's not as easy as saying he gets paid X amount of dollars we should have those players. Our best players and our program builders have come from this state. Unfortunately for us, our state has produced mediocrity the last few years.

Nothing wrong with wanting. Just explain to me where that guy is, and how are we going to get him to Baton Rouge. Bass and Davis grew up in Baton Rouge for crying out loud. Lloreda was a good out of state/country find. Maybe we can find another one, maybe the high school signee is going to be like that.
