Off the top of your head, can you name all of the drafts that have had more than 3 quarterbacks taken in the first round.

Comparing an individual draft to another is asinine, so I'm not gonna bother...

Just because the talking heads on ESPN like a guy or say they heard that one of their sources loves a prospect does not mean that the league or even other scouts/front office people do. This is why year and year out Kiper and to a lesser degree McShay get embarrassed when a guy they have as a lock for a certain slot does not make it and then they try to cover their tracks afterwards.

Again, what if I flip that same argument on you? It's a double edged sword...

Does not change the fact that even when a sizable number of NFL teams need a new quarterback they traditionally don't reach for them in the first round. For some reason the talking heads seem to think that if you need a starting quarterback either now or down the line, you MUST take one in the first round. Every year a segment of sports fans buy into it hook line and sinker and every single year, a quarterback who was suppose to be drafted no later than spot X falls past that spot without fail.

I don't do Mock Drafts because I have no idea what GMs/Scouts know about the prospects that we in the general public are oblivious to. They spend their entire year breaking down film on players an evaluating their skill sets and projecting how they will do in their systems.

Guys like Kiper and McShay don't do that. Sure they get to watch more film than the Average Joe, but they put nowhere as much time and effort into scouting and breaking down players as the scouts do.
