Ah yes, I know of whom you speak. It was getting worse as I was leaving too.
There was a time before Bloomingdale Ave became the commercialized monstrosity it is today, when that high school was the shining beacon for all to follow (Erin Andrews era). Now, I'm afraid it's gone down the same path as it's surrounding suburbs... ghetto.
I transferred from Durant myself, freshman year. I remember thinking what a dump it was, but got used to it after 3 years.
