Like anything else, you're gonna get different opinions.I live in Dothan, and have been since 1998.I love it.Why? As some mentioned, you can be on the beach in about 90 minutes in panama city,or,destin in 2 hours or so.Poplulation is about 68,000.There is a mall, but the biggest thing if you like to eat out,per capita, they have more restaurants than any other city. You can hop on the bypass and be where you need to be in minutes most of the time.Yes,montgomery is the next biggest city, but I lived there as a kid,and the crime rate is much worse. They have 2 major hospitals, tons of specialist, doctors, you name it. If you have any questions about anything, lemme know. Also, you're only minutes from the Georgia state line,as well as florida state line
Thanks for the input as well and the post preceeding. Is Farley power plant in Dothan, North, south, east, west of the city.

Farley is on the river about a 15 to 20 minute drive East of Dothan.

I'm glad someone else mentioned it but Dothan has a ton of restaurants for the size of the city. That's another thing that always struck me about the place when I visited. That and the fact that they had a lot of hotties. I dated a basketball dance team girl from Dothan while at Bama.

P.S. They also have a fairly nice water park in the city as well.

Monticello beat me, but its near if not on the Chattahoochee river east of town. Hwy 84 runs between Dothan and Bainbridge, GA (if you know Bama football, Kirby Smart's hometown) and the power plant is about 20 miles east of Dothan. Another 40 miles or so and you are in Bainbridge.

The Hooch and Flint join at Lake Seminole in SW Ga and form the Apalachicola River. If you have never been, I highly recommend a trip to Apalachicola, Fl. Boss Oyster serves up some of the best in the world.
