What's happening is unprecedented in ticket business.
Tell your buddy there is no way in hell that tickets will drop to anywhere near face value.
Normally for a NC game there are a few thousand tickets out there. I've heard estimates into the hundreds for this game which is just ridiculous.
I think the combination of both fanbases having never been here and the size of the stadium effected the prices, or more distinctly the supply and demand.

I think it is also a TON of national interest. I expect TV ratings to exceed last year's Bama/ Texas game.

The brokers over sold...they sell early on hoping to flip and make a profit...the prices, unlike a lot of games, didn't come down..in fact, they have quadrupled at the minimum..so the brokers are now having to refund tickets they sold in november and early december b/c they can't get them and definately can't make a profit..
If you are selling a ticket you could probably name your price in Glendale and get it..4k per ticket is NOT a stretch
see this link for someone "in the business"..shite will blow your mind
