Thank God this season finally came to an end. UGA is in a bad way with some bad people right now. Finishing strong in recruiting won't fix it either. These problems start and end with Richt and Co. and, frick, it's only going to get worse before it gets better (and considering that this football program currently sucks rocks but that still won't bring season ticket prices down, I'm probably losing the same seats my family has had in Sanford Stadium since the 70's )

You guys should give Richt another chance or three.
He's such a good person.

we need to show Bobo the door.
give Richt one last chance and if we don't win the East or get VERY VERY VERY close too it. Fire his arse.

Keep Richt! The biggest issue it seems constantly with Georgia is they never hire coaches that seem to have a fire in their belly.

Its to late... He is the captain of the ship, he should go down with it.
All the problems we are having are ultimately his fault.

Will Richt agree to fire Bobo? How long have they been together?

yeah and then who are we going to get?

because he holds onto assistants too long.

I hope so. Or at least take away his play calling duties.

since '01. He is a great qb's coach but not a good play caller.

I agree this is a problem. The only thing I can think of is a Florida move where we hire an unproven assistant coach

Ya'll should go after Borges. UGA recruits good enough that he wouldn't have to worry about it.

Or fire them if they don't. How is this not attributable to Richt?

What are you going to sell recruits on?

Just my kneejerk reaction. I just can't stand see my once proud bulldogs show up on the field so poorly

idk. The only thing i can think is location and that the east is weak so a turnaround is easily possible.

Same thing we've sold them on all season: almost guaranteed PT and great school/facilities. That's about all we've got right now
Wanna know why UGA was so good 2002-2005? Because Richt and Brian van Gorder complemented each other perfectly. Richt was the Bobby Bowden HC that the players saw as a loving father figure and Van Gorder was the brilliant DC that would whoop arse if he needed to. Richt hasn't changed, but he hasn't been able to find another Van Gorder and I don't think he will. This team doesn't want to play football anymore. They don't want to win. I feel bad for Kris Durham because he's played the season of his life for his senior year and everyone else around him let him down in a huge way. Both the coaches and the players should feel ashamed of themselves

If you know it's not working, then there's no reason to keep him around another season. There's a lot of quality coaches who would love to be at GA. I hope the new AD will get this fixed.
BTW, this is my first post. Don't I get a free toaster?

Welcome to the board, stay away from posting on the OT until about 1000 posts, and the Catch-22 UGA finds itself in is keep Richt, hope for the best, but still end up with a shite season next year, or go the UF route, hire an unproven but up-and-coming assistant, hope for the best, but still end up with a shite season next year. Neither is going to deliver desired results.

If Richt were an a-hole as a person, he would've been fired already. "But he's such a nice guy!" That's the only reason his dumbass is allowed to stay around.
He should've been fired after last season. It just shows that you only have to beat Ga Tech to stick around at UGA. Pathetic.
