first time i've ever agreed with you. spot on.

I'd maybe put Georgia in Tier 1. Other than that it looks good

I would bump UGA ahead of UT (better recruiting base) but other than that, spot on.

Only part of the list I disagree with is 4 and 5. I believe Georgia is a better job than Tennessee due to their massive in-state talent advantage. The rest is pretty accurate.

Georgia's in-state talent advantage isn't all that special when we take their best player every other year.

Georgia SHOULD be a top tier job, but for whatever reason it never really has been.

Can't say I disagree with that one bit.
They just need the right guy in place

What exactly makes Florida a better job than Bama or LSU?
Posted on 12/10/10 at 1:57 pm to Tennessee Jed
yeah I was thinking about placing Tennessee and Georgia at a tie at 4, but I gave the nod to UT.

Just curious. I know the tradition is definitely ahead of LSU. Facilities I would say are even or LSU lean. Ability to win, LSU is the only game in town in a state that has more talent. Fans both are irrational.
Just asking if it is that clear cut. I would have probably put Bama ahead of LSU just because it seems like what you are supposed to do. I am not sure however if they should be ahead anymore.
I guess I am asking what makes Bama a better job than LSU? Not saying it is not, just wanted to hear people's opinion.

It's all relative though.
10 years ago, Tenn was considered a top 5 job in the country.
A lot of it has to with what's happening at the time they're hiring.
If Fulmer leaves after 2001, there's not a better job in the land. Immense amount of talent, huge national brand.
But after 2009 it's one of the worst jobs in the SEC. Major roster problems, and a snake bitten team.
Conversely
If Brue Pearl was fired today, we'd have coaches lining up to take over our talent.
7-8 years ago we're in the bottom 5% of power six jobs.
The one thing that's a constant though. Despite our lack of in-state football talent. We'll spend as much money as anybody.

Actually, from the 2007-2010 recruiting classes, Alabama produced more players (D1 signees) than Louisiana.
I spent an entire week of Christmas break calculating that haha. Tere is no link, but trust me, I saw the numbers

UGA is clearly one of the elite jobs in the SEC
GA produces so much talent, but there are so many nearby programs also going after GA talent
Ga Tech, UF, AU, Bama, UT

Pretty much agree, but I'd put Georgia over Tennessee, and add the caveat that this is an ever evolving list and could look quite different in 10 years.
