He wouldn't have too, he could drive the price so high up Texas says "frick it, we aren't paying that for one year"
no offense but i think if u.t. wants him, they'll have no issue outbidding aubie.

After that first season, you'd fire Mack and make Gus the HC.

But they already have a coach in-waiting.

So? That head coach in waiting is the cooridinator that got the poop beat out of it all year long.

He'd have to be the highest paid coordinator in the history of coordinators.

He isn't leaving for another OC job, and that's just a fact of life.

Not at all, but Texas wouldn't be willing to match what we'd pay for one year.

And really, he isn't going to take another OC job. He has his sights set much higher.

You're wasting your time. Most don't pay enough attention to know what Gus has done.

Like y'all would be in the NCG if that white kid wound up being your starting QB.

mack brown wants an INSTANT solutions and all of our big donors have said that if he does not get a malzhan/holgerson type they will stop donating, also they're willing to pay whatever to get a stud coordinator to get the program back on track.

So, yeah. Our offense was just fine without Newton in 2009... top 3 in the SEC and 16th in the nation in fact.

I hope he goes

Surely that would seal the deal with him here in Arkansas. I get sick and tired of people around here kissin his backside. Ill make a dang good argument that if hes not at auburn this year we are sec champions. I take that personal.

F him and his 1950s offense

How do you know that? You're just acting stupid. Nobody in the SEC could outbid Texas for a coach they wanted, and being OC at Auburn =/= to being OC at Texas. If coordinator positions were the same, why would Chizik have left Auburn as DC after an undefeated season to become co-DC at Texas?

I realize Texas has a huge amount of resources, but Jacobs has said we will play name the price for Malzahn, so good luck.
Will Newton have to take a pay cut?

He can't bring Cam with him so how will he help Texas. GM was a fluke this year that got lucky because they bought a freak.

Somebody hasn't done their homework. Gus has improved every team he's coached. Just because I hate auburn doesn't mean I can't see that Gus is one of the best OC's at this time.

If Texas wants him Auburns money would look like pennies to dollars. No way Auburn would go seven figures. If they did UT could still double it.

He could take a HC job after this season, he doesn't want another OC job.

And if Texas offers a million, we'll match the million. Hell, pretty sure if he stays he's getting that raise regardless.
