In 2 months, NCAA couldn't make sense of anything..

And then on Monday they declare him ineligible, appealed on Tuesday by auburn, and appeal granted today..

Does this stink to anyone else?

Something is VERY odd with all of this..

Less than 24 hours for a granted appeal?

Really?

Something tells me this whole thing is gonna get really bad

Auburn ruled him ineligible Monday and NCAA reinstated today. It's actually very similar to the Masoli eligibility ruling on how quickly that was resolved.

The investigation isn't over, which is what the NCAA said by "the current evidence". Newton was reinstated for the violation committed with Mississippi State by Cecil. Nothing further has been determined.

It's about the NCAA not subjecting itself to legal liability for taking action on a suspicion that is almost certainly true, but that can't be proven, at least so far.

well, if the NCAA is saving face, why would it get bad? wouldn't it all get swept under the rug?

nah the ncaa and sec are using auburn for money. it was a twist in the plot set up by the rec. They make auburn think its ok and then boom. the rec is just playing mind games with the family

True..

I guess the NCAA thought it should make a statement about his eligibility..

To save face and avoid legal troubles perhaps?

In 2 months, NCAA couldn't make sense of anything..

So now it is evident that AU did know about Cecil back when Cam paid his official visit to AU because pappypimp was not in tow. Cam wanted to go to MSU, a place pappypimp solicited for money and we said no. Then he chose AU cause he didn't actually go to OV with son there. Slive knew about this and obviously tipped AU off to keep Cecil away from AU. Father commited an offense that made Cam ineligable to play anywhere in the SEC. Slive wanted it kept quiet. MSU screamed fowl ball because SEC wasn't handling it. Now NCAA gets involved and tells AU, look, let's handle it this way. Since the FBI has any damning evidence tied up for right now what we are going to do is AU is going to say they knew daddy was guilty all along but Cammie claims he didn't. So we are going to make Cammie ineligable on Monday, with the expressed understanding that y'all (NCAA) will immediaitely allow us to appeal, and y'all will judge him eligable and do it so quickly before the media gets wind of this. Because if the media finds out then all hell will break lose with debate and commmon sense. So the SEC gets their NC game, the NCAA doesn't have to deal with it till after the season is over, by the way thanks to Boise for losing, we set the prescedence that, as long as the kid don't overhear the negotiating, the family can ask for any amount of money they want.

This is what they want us to accept people? We need to demand Mike Slive's head on a fricking silver platter, immediately!

If it was that simple, why didn't they do this when all this shite first came up? Why wait until now?

You're right. It reeks.

My mind is going a million miles a minute right now but I want to think maybe Boise losing to Nevada has something to do with timing of it. I can't connect it right at this second but I think with Boise and TCU undefeated then the NCAA was going to be quiet till the very last minute about this. When Boise lost that made AU jump Oregon in the BCS, didn't it?

It was proved Cecil asked for $. Cecil admitted to it. The fact that this isn't enough is terrifying for the future of college football.

I've been following college football since the mid 70s and I have never been more surprised about anything having to do with the sport than this announcement......nothing even comes close.

Everybody that is sitting someone right now in ANY sport should collectively thumb their nose at the NCAA just like AU is doing and play their players. ANY team that has sit players in the past for NCAA eligability reasons needs to lawyer up and sue the shite out of the NCAA. The NCAA knew all the facts prior to AU playing UGA ans suggested AU sit Cam, they refused and now the NCAA is giving their blessing to this fricking of the sport? And Slive coming from the NCAA and taking over the SEC and trying to keep this all quiet? bullshite! We demand immediate accountability for the actions of the SEC and the NCAA. TCU, if you are listening, you are about to get the biggest NCAA sanctioned arse-fricking of your life! I hope it pisses you of cause it should... They need to also exaimne the connection with Slive and the NCAA as far as conflict of interests go. This is hipocrasy!

The Barn was made aware of the possibilities of violations by the SEC in July. Barn did nothing. NCAA did nothing. Now the season is almost played out and Cam is made ineligible on Tuesday by the Barn and then made eligible by the NCAA the day after.

So the NCAA knew since July, Cam was eligible all along because it took them no time to declare him eligible again on Wednesday.

So why wait until the season is played out to unfold this drama?

It reeks of corruption.

They have been down all day long, at least killerfrogs.com has

I am a TCU fan though and I let my feelings known in another topic and I will post it here:

I and other fans are fine with playing in the Rose Bowl(absolutely nothing wrong with that) and Auburn being in the championship game as long as Auburn is clean. Auburn has done much more than we have and our body of work when scrutinized is not impressive. Auburn deserves to be there over us based on what they have done on the field.

However it would really suck if Cam Newton is guilty and the NCAA is just sweeping all of this under the rug right now and then a few years later Auburn ends up getting it. Yeah, Auburn gets punished, but there is no way you can make up for keeping us out of the title game in 2010 in favor of a team that blatantly cheated.

Hopefully South Carolina can win on Saturday and make this all a moot point.

That's my view.
