After last night's performance against SEMO I can honestly say we are not any better than we were last year.

In all seriousness though, I'm not really sold on Pelphrey either way. I'm leaning towards wanting him gone, but since the PTB has given him until the 2011 class comes in, I don't think we really have a choice in terms of waiting it out. I would much rather have Mike Anderson, but it is what it is.

Agreed, but we're not going to be able to try and land him any time soon. However, if I had my choice, I'd go pick Anderson up in my car from Columbia if that was an option.

No, not 'You never know'; Powell is definitely injured, and wasn't expected to be at full speed yet.
Powell broke his foot about 6 weeks before the beginning of fall practice (August 15th); he's not been up to full speed in drills, and has commented on his own health at being '70%, maybe 80%' after the season opener.
He may or may not play against UAB, that is yet to be determined-- but he is working through a serious foot injury recovery.
