There are 12 teams who have 5 wins right now. And there are 6 bowl spots left to these teams.

If Ole Miss wins on Saturday is there a chance we will be selected for a bowl game with a 5-7 record? Assuming that there are available spots.

I don't know all the 5 win teams, but a few that come to mind are:

Oregon State
Colorado
Texas

Should turn down a bowl invite at 5-7. They wont but they should, thats embarassing for their program.

You won't be "selected," the SEC will try to force you to go. We have to fulfill our bowl tie-in responsibilities for this year. Ole Miss could always refuse to go, but it would piss the SEC off to no end.

Even worse IMO is the fact that a Big East team will get an automatic BCS bid... there are ZERO teams from the Big East ranked in the top 25.

This is seriously pathetic. ONLY an Ole Miss fan who hangs banners for garbage would be thrilled with going to a bowl with a 5-7 record. The only reason you would go is b/c there are too many bowls and too many piss poor teams. I sure hope if Tennessee loses Saturday we stay our asses home.

There are 20 teams that can still become bowl eligible. Some have 5 wins and some have 4 wins with 2 games to play. I think Troy has 5 wins with 2 to play as well.

5 win teams on left:

Colorado v Nebraska
Texas v Texas A&M
Louisville v Rutgers
Houston v Texas Tech
Oregon St v Stanford
Cal v Washington
Georgia v Georgia Tech
Tenn v Kentucky
Florida Int v Arkansas St
Troy v Western Kentucky
Idaho v Fresno St
Western Michigan v Bowling Green
Louisiana-Monroe v Lousiana-Lafayette

4 wins with 2 to play:

Cincy v UCONN then Pitt
Rutgers v Louisville then West Virginia
Washington v Cal then Washington St
UCLA v Arizona St then Hawaii
Florida Atl v Middle Tenn then Troy
Middle Tenn v Florida Atl then Florida Int
Louisiana Tech v San Jose St then Nevada
