Arkansas will lose.

If he calls a smart, aggressive game, it will probably be a barnburner.

I actually agree. You can't say Petrino lacks game management skills on hog boards without them erupting but it's true. He played not to lose a few times.

He was sandbagging last night.

I would have done the same thing. Hocker had not missed at all and should have hit the field goal. If the snap was not bobbled a little then the game would have been over.

I guess it's not neccessarily petrino's fault but he should know from hog history. The ball is always botched bobbled and the kick is always missed. I don't care if Zack Hocker is the best kicker in the world. Everything in our history said he'd miss that kick and he did. One of if not the best offenses in the NCAA doesn't rely on a freshman kicker to win a game in that situation. JMO.

He will have to call an aggressive game, because LSU's defense will not look like it did last night.
LSU plays pocket passers tough!

Huh?

So if he plays conservative in overtime against LSU, Arkansas will lose?

You make no sense.

I thought he played too conservatively all night. OT was terrible though.

What position was Petrino playing?

Teams that can afford to play that conservative are teams with great defense and special teams like lsu. We have to go for the throat always. Right before we ran on 3 and 8 I was thinking you have to throw here but if you are hell bent on running clock just take a knee or give it to a full back for a dive. He called the worst play there and the worst thing happened. Then he relied on the same fumbling running back and freshmen kicker instead of his all american quarterback in OT. OP is right IMO.

Thanks for your expert analysis. I'll pass this along to Bobby.

Mallett passed for over 300 yards. We had nearly 500 yards of offense.

What about that is conservative?

LOL it kills me when people say shite like this...like they know Petrino was cowering from Miss St. He did exactly what he was suppose to do. Kniles gave them life with a miscue, and Hocker gave them life with what's been a chip shot for him all year.

They had 30 more plays than we did. Exactly how is it possible to play if 'not to lose' when thats the case.

All I know is a few of the decisions were eerily Nutt esque.

Alright. I'll be honest. I didn't start watching that game till about 5 minutes left in the 4th. I just wanted to start a thread to frick with Arky fans.

I do think he was too conservative in OT though.

I was disappointed in the conservative approach to the first OT, but I understand why they did it. IMO, I'd not lay the game on a true freshman kicker......

No they werent. Nutt would have thrown and incomplete 3 and out on that 8 yard requirement and would have stopped the clock with.

Petrino did exactly what you are supposed to do, snap the ball late, and stay in bounds. Knile got stripped you cant do anything about that.

Given the record and ability of our kicker I'm sure Petrino and most other coaches would do the same thing and rightfully so.

I agree in retrospect but he did have a kicker whose only miss all year was at 49 and who had been automatic inside of 40. I can understand his reasoning.

I used to want to choke Nutt when he did the same thing, though, so I'm kind of FOS.
