I think this shows the importance of having a expeirence QB in the sec. In 2007 they broke in Tebow and lost 4 games, LSU went through it in 2008 and again in 2009 and we all know the end result. i cant think of 1 example other than GM at Bama that a first year starter leads a team to a sec championship. Florida has talent and will bounce back but it wont be this year. The bottom line is takes a battle tested qb to win in the sec.

Sure.

When UF is down, LSU barely wins.

When LSU is down, UF rolls by 30 or sits on us with a 13 to 3 victory.

You're completely wrong on this one. Florida didn't lose 4 games because Tebow was inexperienced. Tebow had one of the greatest seasons in college football history that. Florida lost 4 games because they had one of the youngest defenses in the country with a bunch of freshmen and sophomore starters.

I really thought Brantley was going to be a top 3 QB in the SEC this year, I was way off on that one.

Im not saying hes terrible and there are def. other factors contributing to his downfall, but still.

They can still get to the SECCG, they arent out of it at all. They have shite to fix, but so does everyone else.

Florida still has a ton of talent and speed, they could pull it together.

Tebow wasn't the problem in 2007. He had 55 touchdowns and won the Heisman, for crying out loud. They were breaking in a defense that consisted of 9 freshmen and sophomores.

Maybe but his team still lost 4 games and he arguably the best player in the history of the SEC?? He did make mistakes that year...

I don't know what else Tebow could have done. He threw for 32 touchdowns, ran for 23 touchdowns, and had all of 6 interceptions. He sure gave us a hell of a time in 2007.

We're in pretty bad shape, at least for the remainder of this year. We're not a very good football team. We have deficiencies in coaching and in some personnel areas. It could be turned around this year, but I highly doubt it will.

No doubt he was a great player but I am talking about sec championships. No doubt he had one of the greatest years ever but he was still developing his leadership roles but i get your point.

Well, when the best team you play in the next 3 games is MSU at home, then its OK to not be that good.

Seriously, UF has no excuse to not be 7-2 when USC comes to town.

Dude Tebow was not hte problem then. This year I would put more on their offensive line than the QB. And I would put our struggles last year more on the line than QB. QB is easy to blame but when they don't have time and no running game we know what happens.

The have a major identity problem on offense.

Spread offense with a pocket passer QB.

you guys still control your own destiny. The loss to LSU hurts but it doesnt kill your chances of winning the sec east. for what its worth, i think SC played well but at no point did i believe Bama was/is invincible. UF matches up well with USCe and i would bet they still win the east.
