Fulmer was twice the coach that Miles is right now. Fulmer's problem was recruiting. UT had to recruit nationally. Miles has the state that produces the most NFL talent per capita in his back yard. The corridor from Baton Rouge to New Orleans has produced some of the greatest football talent in the nation at all three levels of football.

Not Rivals/Scout wise, but evaluation wise.

I agree, like I said, I think Miles is one of a kind

but he's closer to Fulmer than Coker I think

it's a good thing LSU has great athletes

No, he's not. Fulmer was an awful gameday coach. He was extremely successful because he was able to out-athlete teams in a down SEC. Whenever he faced teams with comparable athletic talent ala Nebraska and Florida, he got his arse kicked. I don't think it was a coincidence that Tennessee went completely down the tubes once the coaching and recruiting around the SEC improved.
