So it's designed for him to run the ball more than the running back and be the leading rusher in the SEC? Makes sense.....

The thing about Newton right now, is he doesn't know the entire offense. The playbook is so complex, that Malzahn isn't comfortable with Newton with regard to a lot of the plays. They have been slowly opening up the playbook some as Newton learns how to read coverages and what not, but right now, what Malzahn feels most comfortable with is the read option plays/ normal run plays and the basic passing attack. We are definitely not running the entire offense yet, but against USCe, we started to show a few more things.
