I was listening to Mike Leach on a college radio show today and he said something pretty bold about Auburn. He said they had no real offensive identity. He said the only thing your QB was good at was the broken play.

Is this true? I have not seen AU play a whole game. Does Newton run the offence or does he just get yards on broken plays that are designed to do something else? When Auburn plays the defenses with LB's and Safeties that can spy and contain Newton, will the AU offense suddenly fade away or is Leach full of shite and Newton is running the actual offense as it is designed.

god love Leach, but he's incorrect.

Newton has the ability to expand plays, but we put 500 yards up on South Carolina. Newton didn't run for all of those yards.

he runs the ball a lot more than they throw it and he makes big plays out of broken plays, but they have an offensive identity it is run Newton run. He is eeasily one of the best athletes on the field everytime he steps onto it.

I def do not agree with this. I'd say Malzahn's offense has a distinct identity.

This, however, hits a little closer to home...IMHO

Newton is quicker than your LB's and bigger than your safeties.

He said last week that we weren't even a top ten team. I guess we will see.

Last time I checked he was fricking unemployed.

This was true against us. We'd get third down, think we had him stopped, and he'd just lean forward and get the first.

Leach is right and knows more about football than any of the homer/sheep Au fans on this site. Leach knows Au will fold when they play the better teams on their schedule and that is why he didn't have them a top 10 team. ARK, LSU, Bama all will beat Au, plus 1-2 of UK, OM or UGA.

Au has done what was expected of them during the first part of their weak arse schedule. Good Job Au
