I was thinking about this earlier and wanted to know what fans from other schools thought. It seems pretty unlikely that this will be the match-up for the SECCG (I don't think either team will win their divisions), but I'm still curious about what the outcome would be.

Thank god you always let rational thinking lead to your opinions. You bang on Florida constantly, but it's cool R2R, you're still my boy.

Right now, I think it would be a hell of a game, but I have yet to see Florida hit on all cylinders so I don't really know who would win.

What if you have and just haven't realized it yet?

With all the talent on offense, there's NO way they have hit on all cylinders yet. Plus, if you actually watch Florida's games, you can see they're not executing on a consistent basis quite yet.

Yeah I think Florida will pick up a lot of steam later in the season... unfortunately for you guys you have to play Alabama and LSU very soon, and losses in those games could take you out of the SEC-E race.

Then again, if USC loses to Auburn and Alabama, then the SEC-E will probably be decided when USC goes to Florida. In that case I have to favor Florida.

I think Florida and LSU are mirror images of each other. It's actually kind of scary if you have watched their games. LSU and Florida both have great defenses, but LSU fans will tell you theirs is a tad better, because they're homers. I think Florida keeps it close in Tuscaloosa for a half, but I'm not too confident about our chances in the 2nd half. If we can keep it close til the 4th, I think we could get lucky, but right now, I think we lose in Tuscaloosa by anywhere from 3 to 17. The LSU game is a different story. We match up so similarly with them it's crazy. Both offenses have yet to click, both defenses are strong, and both teams have really good special teams. The LSU game will be decided IMO by anywhere from 3-7 points. If it comes down to UF v USCe for the East title, I'll take Florida because this offense is going to grow consistently throughout the year, and should be a lot more consistent by the time the Cocks come to G-ville.

The only game I have watched Arkansas was Saturday's game against UGA.

I think UF would win in a close one, and it would be a great game to watch for both fans of each school and the neutral observer.

The Gator's defense would slow Arkansas down on offense, and UF will hit their stride and find an offensive identity soon...although the play calling against us was suspect.

I wouldn't be shocked if Arkansas won, but I give UF's defense the slight lean over Arky's offense.

A running QB will give them more problems than a pocket passer IMO.

This is subject to change if Arkansas beats Bama.

I personally think Arkansas would beat Florida at this point in the season. My reasoning is that we nearly beat them last year at their stadium, and our team has only improved while theirs has regressed. Their offense is much less potent, and we handled their much better offense last year quite well.

If their offense picks up steam then that might change the outcome, but right now, I think we'd have the advantage.

edit: oh yeah, and we seem to have much better special teams now, which is a big part of what cost us the game last year

Florida. Their defense would be too much for Mallett.

Our defense for some reason is really good at stopping outside runs, which is what Florida's offense has looked best at. It's a big reason why we gave them fits last year, too. I just don't know if I can call Arkansas winning against Florida until I see it. Of course, I said the same thing about Georgia too.

Yeah, we'll assume for sake of argument that the refs call a perfect game.
