Because cfb is not an extracurricular activity for the students like it used to be. It is a very marketable business and the only thing that rivals NFL football. AS LONG AS IT IS A BUSINESS PEOPLE WILL BE FANS THAT NEVER WENT TO THE UNIV OR EVEN LIVED IN THE STATE. Sorry hit the caps lock on accident.

I'm not talking about sidewalk fans who have jobs as construction workers, I'm talking about people who attend a big school and root for another program.
