Do any of you concede that deep down you are afflicted with fear over never getting to a national championship game, and that if you do that you'll blow it?
I ask not to flame.. and I seriously doubt I'll get any "yes" responses. BUT, i start the thread because ultimately I have been shocked at how well Chizik has done at creating positive energy and recruiting... even hiring a motivational coaching staff. (major props where props is due)... but ultimately, I just feel that this staff won't accomplish a national title. in fact, i really don't think they'll maintain an effective year in and year out answer to Saban and company.

A whole lot of false hope, IMO.
When Chizik was rumored to be the next coach at Auburn, they thought it was a joke. Then he was hired. Some laughed, others rallied around him. This past recruiting class combined with the presence of Gus really has them thinking that they can conquer Alabama.

bama fans are a disease.
i would rather be an aubbie than a bammer- even if that meant never winning another game.

After 1983, 1993, and 2004, along with years where we were so close but failed to capitalize like 1988 and 2006, it's hard not to be afraid that we are snakebitten.

you would think Auburn wouldve picked up a MNC back in the day. hell, even Old Miss and Arkansas have one.
