Actually yes I have. Have you?
My breaking is based on picking up Miami, Clemson, FSU and GT while leaving the current divisions in tact. Out of those 4, Georgia Tech and FSU are the 2 western most teams, therefore they join the West while Miami and Clemson are added to the East.
Power would be very well split in this scenario too if you ask me.
All that's fine and dandy, except for that you kept Vanderbilt in the east, which is further to the west than any of these schools.
Putting FSU AND GT in the west and keeping Vandy in the east is pretty ignorant. Im not surprised someone called you out on it, and you still failed to see/address it.
FSU and GT are in eastern time zone, while Vandy is in central. You don't see any problems with that?

As I just stated in another thread...
I would rather see the SEC add Baylor over Houston. Both have "wanna be" teams and low attendence. But Baylor would increase our academics a bit. Thisis something that conferences are being forced to take a look at. And the SEC West would finally have its version of Vandy!

To make it easy on the BCS officials. They want to make more money doing the +1 "playoff" format, and with all the major schools put into 4 conferences, it makes their job alot easier. 4 champions play semifinal games, I guess you could rotate year by year who plays who, and winners make the NC.
I agree Chico. I think we should add 2 schools based on athletic program, and 2 schools with good academics(one of each in each division). And I'm not saying add Yale or Harvard, more along the lines of Baylor, an NC or Duke would be nice but I doubt it.

I believe he said he was trying to keep the divisions we have now together and just add on.

The thing I don't like about expansion is, the more teams you have, the less often you play them. For example, expansion in MLB has compromised some great traditional rivalries like SF-LA and CHI-STL. These teams used to play each other 18 games a season; now they play maybe 11 or 12 times a year—and this year, I believe the Cubs don't even visit St. Louis until August. That's fricked up.
So now, we play Bama and Auburn and Ole Miss less often so we can play Houston and A&M more often? I don't call that an improvement.

i happen to like the conferences thought up by the espn writers. the ones named after famed cfb coaches. they seem fair/balanced and geographically fair.

How would we play them less often?
We play them once a year. If we added two teams to each division, we would still have to play each team in our division once.

I'm pretty sure in MLB you play everyone in your division 18 times. And how do they not go to STL until August? And nobody said anything about Bama, Auburn or Ole Piss not being in our division anymore. We would prob lose the every year UF game though

I wouldn't laugh so much at UH. their offense could keep them in some games and maybe win a couple.

SEC Expansion Wishes
The sec doesn't need to add anyone. Wh fix something that isn't broken? We got our multi-billion tv deal already, so there is no need for expansion. Y'all do realize that this is the only reason anyone wants to expand? Honestly, we'd still be the strongest conference even if the PAC 10 were to go to 16 teams. 16 teams is way too many and makes being in a conference almost pointless
I agree. Instead of expanding, just play some of these pussies that are trying to expand in our ooc games. Its the same teams the SEC has been beating in the NC game, they are just joining together.
If we do expand though... I would like
East
Fla. St.
Miami
West
OU
OSU

Hell, Tulane has a good season once in a blue moon also. Let's let them back in the SEC!

Well thats kinda dumb. Any kind of expansion with eastern teams ie FSU, Clemson, GT, VT should warrant realigning Vandy to the West, especially if you instead plan on moving teams like GT and FSU to the west.
It isnt like Vandy has any longstanding heated rivalries with anyone in the east except Tennessee, and really, whats the point?

That 'garbage' kicked your a$$es all over the field with one of our worse teams ever.

I'm not agreeing with him. I'm with you on this. I like almost everything in the linked article except for the way he has the SEC done. Miami and FSU in the west and candy in the east. I wish they would just go ahead and do this if they are gonna do it

The Cubs first road trip to St. Louis is August 13-15. That sucks.

Right, but with 7 teams in our division, I assume we're not playing each one of them every year. Which means there will be seasons where we don't play Bama or Auburn or Ole Miss—correct?

My point was keeping the divisions the same and adding the new teams to East and West based on their locations. But if you want to move Vandy to the West go ahead. Move them and Tennesse to West and throw GT and FSU in the East.

I think the most likely raid of teams would come from the Big East, and not the ACC. There is no real reason for any of the ACC teams to bolt. They are locked in to the BCS as much as anyone, and they kick arse in basketball. If the Big Ten grabs Missouri and Nebraska from the Big 12, and Pitt, Syracuse and Rutgers from the BE, those conferences will fall apart and a mad dash will ensue. The ACC will likely try to grab four of the remaining BE teams (Louisville, Cincinnati, WVU, South Florida or UConn, leaving the likely additions to the SEC, if there are any, to come from the Big 12 (most likely UT, A&M, OU and OSU). That would leave the SEC looking like this:
WEST
-------
Oklahoma
Ok State
Texas
Texas A&M
Arkansas
LSU
Ole Miss
State
EAST
-------
Bama
Auburn
Vandy
Tenn
Kentucky
Georgia
Florida
South Carolina
WEST

Ok State
Texas
Texas A&M
Arkansas
LSU
Ole Miss
State
EAST
-------
Bama
Auburn
Vandy

Kentucky
Georgia
Florida
South Carolina

Why would you think that we would not play them each once? We play a 12 game schedule. So even if we played them all at least once we could still have 5 OOC games or 3 OOC games plus 2 games against the SEC EAST. The PAC-10 teams all played each other (9 games) plus 3 OOC games. Now I am not saying that the SEC should do something just because the PAC-10 did it (That would be a step backwards). But just saying that it could still easily work were even in an expanded SEC, the divisional teams could and should still play each other once per year.
