This is the 34th Southeastern Conference Tournament. After today's championship game, exactly half of the titles will have been won by either LSU or Alabama. The Tigers have won nine championships; the Crimson Tide has won seven.
"This is what you work for all year," Alabama coach Mitch Gaspard said. "It will probably be about three-quarters crimson and white and the other portion will be purple and gold, and they'll be as loud as 12,000 Alabama fans.
"It kind of takes you back to the late '90s when Alabama and LSU would hook up. ... It should be a tremendous environment tomorrow."
Alabama never has lost an SEC Tournament championship game. It defeated LSU in 1995, 1997 and 2003.

He's had once series against LSU, as a SEC head coach. I hardly qualify that as a trend. Should his time as head coach of Northwestern State even be relevant in this case? Regardless, it is about as relevant as namesake of this thread. Neither will have any real bearing on one game. It is baseball, afterall.

Actually we kicked arse in 1997, by the tune of 27-3 or something like that.
LSU beat us in Omaha because our star player was taking BP and broke his ankle and that fricker behind the plate was giving y'all a foot off the black.
JK of course. LSU in the 90s

It's BCW. It's getting rolled regardless.

It should be a good game, and both fan bases will be loud as hell.

Hypothetical question, if bama had won that game, would bama's program have had the same success that lsu has had since then?

gaspard was bertmen"s first recruit, but he left after one year and went to houston
has never beaten lsu as a head coach - but it is tough to win four in a row in one season against anyone
we had lost three to both ole piss & florida this year and two to vandy
will be interesting on sunday
of course, we would rather win - as we have been - the cws

No. We collected 2 rings since then and have been on top of the sec for 2 years and winning the championship for 3 years in a row would put us near the top this year.

No one is stopping the Tigers tomorrow in Hoover. Momentum under Maineri is a difficult thing to stop. You guys saw that in Omaha last year. Oh check that...you guys were not in Omaha last year. O.k. keep getting excited about the Hoover home field advantage and we will continue to win Championships in Omaha. We have 6 titles in baseball. How did Jim Wells do ? Don't talk smack about LSU baseball. We had this discussion with Tulane's Rick Jones. He aint got no rings either.

How will we continue to win championships in Omaha when this is the last year to be played there?
