So Les is diong something right then. He avgs 10 wins a season but yet he is getting ready to be out on his arse.

True but when richt had his teams in postion he shits it away.

Same could be said for Les. Again other schools will pull the trigger. UGA will not, b/c 10 wins is all richt needs to stay in his job.

Tough to argue this.
2002 --> 7 pt loss to Florida.
2003 --> 3 pt loss to UF, blowout loss in SECCG to LSU
2005 --> Shockley gets injured while team is undefeated and we suffer 4 pt loss to UF. Fluke 1 pt loss to AU in his first week back. Tough break.
2007 --> 16-12 to SC

But this simply is not correct.

This is debatable. Richt just hasn't had the luck other teams have had. Everyone but 95 nebraska has needed SOME good fortune go their way. In 2007 LSU lost 2 games including the LAST one of the regular season. 06 Florida needed a last second field goal block. 08 florida lost a game. In 2002, Richt's best year, we still would've played for the NC if there weren't 2 undefeateds in front of us. If FSU makes a field goal miami doesn't go. If OSU doesn't have "Holy buckeye" we go. Those are the things beyond our control that went against us that other SEC teams have gotten. That's just the way the ball bounces. I mean think about it, if FSU makes a field goal in 2002 and Kentucky makes a field goal in 2007, we could talk about Richt winning 2 national titles. We've gotten in position, it just didn't work out.

As a head coach he averages 10 wins? By my count it's 8.5

Other schools do because they have to. Zook was not NC caliber, that was obvious. He also was a nut. Shula didn't look to be NC caliber. John Cooper didn't appear to be able to get it done. Teams pull the trigger when it's obvious a coach has gotten them as far as they can. We did the same when we realized Donnan was a hell of a recruiter but we weren't going to win anything of substance with him. Richt has shown that he has the capability to take us all the way. It just hasn't happened yet.
