Arkansas fans- we did not say anything about the big XII. But seriously, this is a preseason ranking of the teams in the west. How do arky fans put themselves ahead of a team that beat them last year, has waaaaay more depth and talent than them, and i see the coaching excuses but we have new position coaches in Billy G., frank w, and Steve e.
Yall will be good but I think you should prove it before you start ranking yourself 1a or 2. I mean we all know in the SEC, defense wins games. LSU D>>>>> arky d

you won in OT in large part because Arkansas has a kicker who can't make a FG outside of 25. That "win" doesn't say a whole lot about LSU being such a superior team.

We, too, have new position coaches with Klinekis on the OL and Caldwell on the DL. those guys should help the running game and the defense quite a bit. as for depth - we were still a really young team last year and lost exactly one player worthy of being picked up in the draft. skill positions are all back and depth is improving.

and arkansas O>>>>> LSU O.

and again, we lost very few players and picked up a great DL coach who simplified the playbook and has a lot of input with the DC. the defense will improve. we have a ton of talent coming back, i don't think choosing us 2nd in the West is all that crazy.
