Yes it would. I'm thinking we kick out Arkansas and add FSU, GA Tech, Clemson, Miami (maybe), Texas (maybe).

FSU-Definitely
Georgia Tech-Definitely
Clemson-NO!
Miami-maybe
Texas-Definitely

It wouldn't be terrible.

They're being morons on this idea. Adding Ok St or TAM is basically doing them a favor. They're filler, basically USC and Ark(sans Richardson and McDonnell hardware) Part Two. Yet, I know they would be package deals to get their respective state's largest U.

Why does LSU, Ark, Miss, get jammed in via the addition of four to the geographical western side of the conference, while UF is allowed their whole massive geographical and populaced state as the lone SEC entity?

If you want to add Texas the state, and it's two largest schools, as to add market size and open their state's recruiting grounds further to all SEC schools, the only fair and equitable thing to do, is to be able to persuade Miami and FSU to leave the ACC for SEC, thus balancing UF's recent dominance in the Sunshine state, where they reign supreme of late over FSU and Miami, much of which is aided by being the SEC's lone Sunshine school, and kids wanting to compete in the SEC.

LSU and others get some kids out of Fla, but fewer of late, where UF and Bama lead the way for Fla's best, along with FSU and Mia's recruits.

Fair is fair, if I'm LSU, Ark, Miss, MSU, and assorted Eastern Division school's ADs, I only add the Texas schools if Mia and FSU also agree to come along.

P.S. I'm against any expansion, as I think the SEC doesn't need to, from it's position of strength. And personally, with SEC Foots and Bases strength, think the addition of only a great Hoops school or two should be a focus as to aid the SEC in competing with the Big East, ACC, Pac-10, and Big Ten for national hardware..IE..Louisville..UNC..or Duke.

You want to know how to solve the conference expansion problem? Notre Dame to the Big Ten, Boise State and Utah to the Pac 10. Problem solved.

Why would Texas be in the SEC anyway? They're not in the southeast and have no ties to the teams in it. It would suck arse to have a regularly scheduled away game that far away every 5 years also. Btw, I read somewhere that it's in the Texas legislature that Texas and TAMU have to be in the same conference, so we wouldn't get one without the other.

Notre Dame needs to get off their "high horse". They are not Notre Dame anymore. They have averaged seven wins a year since 1990. I've only been alive since 1989. So to me, Notre Dame isn't really that great of a program. Just join the Big Ten and stop thinking your program is more important than college football as a whole. I really hate Notre Dame.

Sure it would be terrible. The reason I and others like CFB so much is because EVERY game matters...if you add 2-4 power teams in the mix then you're looking at an NFL perspective on things where even the best of the best will not get by without 2-3 losses. That waters things down. With conference expansion you lose rivalries...traditions, etc. Things that make CFB what it is.

I agree, and have long been against adding Tex or ATM, and most certainly the Okla schools.

SEC should've landed FSU and Mia over the ACC when had a chance back then. Not giving lottery tickets to Ark nor USCe.

Any SEC expansion, without adding FSU, Mia, or USF, as to counterbalance Fla, while the other schools split state talent and markets, or stack on one another via proximity, is ludicrous.

The conference and presidents don't care about that sort of stuff. They care about money. And Texas would mean big money.

Excellent point that doesn't get brought up near enough as it should. If the SEC expanded to 16 teams or whatever, would the Oldest Rivalry in the Deep South cease to exist? No more third saturday in October? Georgia and Ole Miss played every year from the 1960s to 2002 but had to quit because of the new format. That was a minor rivalry, but it was still fun. The day that UGA/AU and UA/UT aren't on each other's schedule every single year will be a sad, sad day for college football.

I think auburn would move to the east so we could make sure it always happend. If expansion means losing this game i'm vehemently against it, but i would like to think they'd keep this amazing rivalry going.

Some of the more astute ADs do care, and would veto many votes and nominations for expansion, for those reasons.

USCe wouldn't want Clemson..Ky wouldn't want Louisville in-state nor UNC or Duke Hoops..Fla would want to veto FSU, USF, or Mia..LSU Miss and Ark wouldn't go for Tex or ATM or Okla and Okie St..UGA and Aub wouldn't allow GT, etc..it screws with their recruiting angles to their largest sports and programs..it jams them up in recruiting proxies and where they poach nearby state's talent with the lure of SEC play.

Arkansas to C-USA is the most likely scenario, the big twelve will be disbanded due to the entire Big 12 south joining the SEC and Big 12 north joining to big 10-11?

How would Tenn Vol fans feel about adding Memphis St, or Louisville, or UNC/Duke? I wonder how well Pat and Pearl would do with added Hoops powers nearby able to sell via SEC membership? Better? Worse?

What if MTS and their burgeoning school gets added to the SEC, and Nashville $uburban kids no longer need to attend Knoxville any longer? Can stay home close to Brentwood/Cool Springs/Franklin/etc...yet still a small enough commute to keep away from mom and pops..and still be in the SEC..without needing Vandy acceptance letters?

It's a NIMBY situation..not..in..my..back..yard.

If the Big 10 expands to 14 or 16 teams I could see the SEC following suit. I would guess the SEC would go after FSU or Miami for the east and Texas or Texas A&M for the west. Everything else would stay the same.

Memphis joining the SEC would have zero effect on Tennessee Basketball. We recruit different areas and they already out recruit everyone in the league.

Nobody from Texas should ever, EVER be in the SEC. Once again, they're not in the southeast and have no ties to this region. Yeah they're rivals with Arkansas, that's about it, big deal. Why would yall want to make it exponentially harder to win the national championship every year? We have a great thing going right now, no need to mess with it. Our conference schedules are already tough enough as is, why would you want to add another perennial top 10 team on top?

it'd be totally awesome for them to play on ncaa football. shite, they're probably typing their ''winner'' or ''yes'' comments with cheeto stained hands.
