Just curious about this and its the offseason. Most of us are football fans first. Why are you a fan?

My dad is the biggest LSU fan I know. He went on an 18 year streak of not missing an LSU home game. This includes having pneumonia at a rain game (I believe against A&M in the 80s), sitting through horrible seasons, and raising ticket prices. I have missed 5 home games since I was 4 years old and was just born a Tiger. In 1987 on the day that I was born (June 4th), the Tigers beat Witchita St in the CWS. My pops and the doctor were watching the game in my moms room .

I guess I should include I am now in my final year of Undergrad at LSU!

I know some of you chose your team later in life...I think there will be some interesting stories!

The college that I attended and graduated from also happens to have a very good football program.

Grew up going to games there. When I decided to go to school in state, I chose Miss. State, because, well there's no where else in the state to go besides Millsaps.

My family members were LSU fans before they moved to Tuscaloosa (along time ago). I was born here and went to UofA as did my wife and two daughters. So I'm a fan of the UofA and not just the football team.

I still like LSU and think their fans are some of the most loyal and fervent fans out there. But I have to admit many of them are odd.

My family is from Mobile, and were all raised to be BAMA fans. My mom and dad moved to BR so my mom could get her masters from lsu. They still raised me right though! RTR! I've been to many more games in Tiger stadium than BDS though. Damn did I get a lot of crap from my friends growing up. Well, until BAMA and LSU actually played each other.

Born and raised a Gamecock fan and will soon be an alumni. Will be a 3rd generation Gamecock and go to all the home games and many basketball-baseball ones as well.

Parents were LSU fans, but I went to college at Sewanee and law school at Bama.

Grew up in AL though where all of my friends were either Bama or AU fans. This actually reinforced my LSU fandom since I was the only one around.
Cracks me up watching AU and Bama fans go at it. What unites them is greater than what divides them and they really aren't any different from each other regardless of their barner and bammer comments.

Neither parent was an alumnus. Went to a game when I was in 7th grade and watched Duece run wild as a sophomore, got hooked. For the rest of my HS days came up several fball weekends a year.
Played ball at a small college in jackson my freshman year, hung up the cleats, and transferred to OM my sophomore year. Graduated last May....damn can't believe it's been a year since I have been out of college.

My dad started cheering for Alabama after they defeated Tennessee in 1966. He said that was the first game he ever remembered watching as a child. My mother didn't move to Alabama until the 70s and attended Alabama from 1979-1982. Naturally, I was born into the Bama nation.

My ancestors started a few of the schools at Alabama, and a few were some of the first professors there. There are some buildings named after them, and my grandfather lived in one of the famous houses on campus. Professionally, my dad and stepdad and brothers have had strong ties to various aspects of the school. Some people have gone to other schools for undergrad, but we all maintain close ties to the University.
