So Ben Tate is faster than McCluster?

Just heard McCluster ran 4.55 and Tate ran 4.45. A whole tenth of a second faster?
I dont believe that for one bit, just shows why people shouldnt get so hung up on 40 times, if those #s are true.
Either way, this is going to end up being a very profitable weekend for Tate

Dexter stumbled at around the 5 yard line.

Tate's number is legit. McCluster is a 4.3 guy if he doesn't stumble.

K thanks. Knew something had to be wrong. Must be nice to be able to stumble and still run 4.55

I didn't really notice it that much but the announcers mentioned it before he was even finished running.

4.56 on his second run. He must just be slow.

Disagree. Dexter is a solid 4.4 guy. But he is running full speed on his first step or as one analyst put it, "is running a 4.4 out of bed". That's the difference
I'd like him to prove me wrong though.

Tate ran track before coming to Auburn to play football he was running 4.4 on his great days, he ran about what most expected him to. He showed today that he is a hard worker and his stock raised some today, how much remains to be seen but Tate will be a good NFL back.

any nfl team that takes tate be4 dexter would be very foolish imo

How bad does that hurt him? That's pretty slow. He was faster when he was a freshman and weighed more if that's his official time.

he's viewed as a power/big back so I don't think it hurts him much
scott went 4.72 & 4.67 and I'd guess he'll still go 3/4th round, just like Dixon

Tate also put up 26 reps on the bench press, which tied the RB from Fresno St for the most.

I doubt very much, scouts and NFL people will notice it and expect him to be slightly faster so that number won't affect him very much as long as his others are good.

Totally disagree. Tate is an every down back. bigger, stronger and seems to be faster.
McCluster has to be in space to be effective.
