He wanted out before Nutt could damange him any more. QB recruits will take notice just like they did at Arkansas under Nutt.

It's the former, not the latter, mixed with his big ego. He was told he wasn't guaranteed to start next fall with the Craptastic season he just had, and his family needs the money.
