I know some Bama fans felt a little down on NSD

I think that is mainly cause it wasn't as exciting for us as it has been the past two. But the way I look at is we had a lot of top notch guys that were very sure early on that Bama is were they wanted to be. And I like knowing that guys are that sure that they wanna roll with the Tide.
About the only ones we picked up late were because of late offers.

My biggest problem with this years class was that some fans can't accept it for what it was. It was a solid B+ class. A double instead of a homerun.
Lots of great players that would've made the top 10 in either or our last two recruiting classes. But we had this built in excuse that we were "recruiting for need". It's just a line. You can't say you recruited for need if none of the players you are bringing in are going to start next year. You recruit for need EVERY year.
What happened is, other SEC schools hustled their asses off in recruiting this year. AU, UT(old staff) and UF's staff all probably did a better overall job(for whatever reason). Down year in state didn't help either
For UT to be able to lose Kiffin and bring in Dooley and still sign the players he did is unbelievable. I look at a guy like Justin Hunter....he's just what we needed in this class and he didn't even sniff us. It took them all of 5 seconds to steal away Stone. B Sims was ready to jump. Craig Sanders flipped. Keenan Allen flipped. It used to be impossible to steal our kids and this year, it seemed easy. Part of that was probably due to playing in the championship and focusing more on that than recruiting(as they should)
There definitely were flaws in the way we went about it this year though. I have no clue why we needed 4 or 5 WRs who are all 6 foot 180 lbs and run 4.5 40s. Every wide receiver we brought in was the same guy. Why not put the heat on Hunter or Jeremy Richardson.
In summary: Very good class. We shouldn't act like it's not but also shouldn't act like we lit the world on fire. Ultimately, we're a spoiled fan base now....but Saban talks on and on about outworking people and not being content. Well...this is a product of not being content. Pretty good class.....could've been better

I am very pleased with the class !! I think the only reason we weren't #1 again is because we are already LOADED. Kids want playing time NOW, they're greedy and want to be in the spotlight. A lot of kids aren't content to redshirt for a year after being the Star in HS....and they see that the competition for spots at BAMA is going to be brutal !! Lets look at the BIG picture, look at the talent pool that is at BAMA right now. These kids know that the pool is DEEP and that if they don't work their butts off that they'll drown !! I think it speaks magnitudes about the kids that did sign with us.....it shows they obviously have good work ethics and aren't afraid of the competition.....be it on the practice field, or kicking the butts of 14 other teams next season

#3 or #4 ranked class in the country is a B+? Nah, that's a fricking A+. And ill take our coaches analysis of players over some recruiting gurus who've never coached a kid in their lives. Two years from now this might be considered one of the best ever. And how many schools had as many early enrollees as bama? I'd rather have kids on campus then have an exciting signing day. Bama signed one of the elite classes in the country and it should be recognised as such.

Wow Sandy. When was the last time you recruited football players for a major SEC school?

You have got to be friggin' kidding me....
A top 5 class is a B+....

Reality for Bama is they no longer can play the "you can play as a freshmen" card and you are limited on how many guys you can sign just like everybody else. And not every kid wants to put up with Saban's B.S. That's the bottom line. Be happy where your program is. Your coach knows how to coach up whatever players you get.

No way this class is a B+. Top 5 with our needs filled at DB, OL, with some real speed on the edge and the number one qb in the country? is awesome. Anyone that is not pleased with this class is just loopy.
Give me a top 5 class in the bag weeks before signing day over a top 5 class that you have to pull out of the bag at the last moment every year.

Points taken off because:
"Got the #4 Recruiting Class?" makes for bad T-Shirts, I suppose.

Looks like the "process" of running off a great coach because of unreasonable expectations has started a little earlier than i thought.

I'm talking about the recruits they lost to other teams. Bama has landed those the past 2 years because they could promise early playing time. Besides, Meyer, out recruited all SEC coaches this year.

The last 2 years Saban played the "early playing time" line. That's not going to work anymore.
