Mississippi State RB Anthony Dixon measured a hulking 6'1/245 at Monday's Senior Bowl weigh-in.

And it wasn't fat. Dixon, the 2009 SEC rushing leader, is drawing rave reviews for "impressive bulk" in the lower body and upper-body strength. A four-year starter, he missed just one game in his career while also catching 56 passes. Dixon could really help himself by running in the 4.5s this February. Not to mention he can catch the ball as well which is an added plus. A few concerns scouts have about Dixon is the amount of carries he has taken in college and his lack of explosiveness.

Got overshadowed by Ingram but he had a hell of a year/career.

You should do one thread and post all the info about SEC players in that one thread. Are you getting this from Scott Wright's tweets?

Dixon is an NFL bruiser type of back who can be used in short yardage situations and goal line.

A lot of people would probably like it. It's better than most of the other threads going right now.

Short yardage? I'd use him as an every-down back.

Reminds me of Ronnie, just a step slower. Regardless he will be a good back in the NFL.

Dixon is a beast. He will be a very good NFL back. He and Mark Ingram are very similar. What would have happened if you placed Anthony Dixon where Mark Ingram was this year? My bet. They would have very similar numbers.

Dixon won't make it in the big leagues. Practice squad maybe.

Considering their number are already similar and Ingram still played in three more games than Dixon, Dixon would have much better stats if he would have Bama's line plus the added three games and that would result in a Heisman trophy. But I'm sure once when Ingram is a senior (if he doesn't go pro before then) he will have better stats.

+1

He was stated in an interview that he would love to get drafted by and play for his favorite childhood team, the San Francisco 49ers.

If he runs under a 4.6 I'll buy Dixon as an NFL starter.... until then... meh.

FWIW, he's a good athlete and I expect him to make a team next year.

Anthony Dixon owned mark ingram in rushing yards plus the big mother fricker didn't even play a game which he could have had over 200 rushing yards
