Is Mark Ingram highly regarded nationwide?

Are there teams in the country that Mark Ingram wouldn't start for? I know this is an unusual question since it is regarding a Heisman winner. But what I mean is this:
Would he be able to thrive in the Pac-10 like LaMichael James did at Oregon? Would a team like Oregon even want him?
Look at past few Heisman winners. Palmer, Bush, Tebow, Leinart, and Bradford would probably be a star anywhere.
Does Mark Ingram have that kind of talent?

Yes. Did you not watch the NC game. Look at the yards he had after contact. Look at the yards he had against the top defenses.
Add to that he's just a sophomore.

i don't think so. that Bama o-line was sick. he is indeed a very good player. but I don't think he would start at any school.

He's not the best RB ever or anything, but I can't believe that you're even questioning this.

Our o-line gelled well this year considering what was lost, but they were a shell of what they were in '08.
Remember that more than half of his rushing yards came after first contact.

he wouldn't start for Oregon over LaMichael James. he's not the type of back Chip Kelly's scheme calls for.
he wouldn't start for Stanford over Toby Gerhart because Gerhart is the better of the two. as evidenced by last year's stats.

Gerhart had better stats for 2 reasons: 1.) He was the only back Stanford actually used where Bama had a plethora to choose from and 2.) He plays in the Pac 10!

Sure there are teams that would not want Ingram because they have backs that better fit their systems.
I hope not all Bama fans are so arrogant to believe that every school in country would want Ingram. He would not be as effective in other teams systems and the one Alabama runs suits him perfectly.

I will say this 1 last time, for some reason people believe SEC is best conference at everything.
Pac-10 had better rushing defenses
They also had more running backs with 1000 or more yards, more running backs with 750-1000+ yards, and they rushed just as much as SEC for the most part. I believe the difference was about 5 rushes a game when you compare the 2 conference. We had this debate when Heisman was around.
Yes Ingram is a great back and he was just as deserving as Gerhart, but Gerhart had less to work with.

So the fact that they have RBs going for a lot of yards means they have better rush defenses than the SEC?

No, they have more teams in Top 50 of rushing defense than the SEC.
I know the argument is made because they are pass happy conference. Yet the numbers I provided during the Ingram/Gerhart Heisman debate showed the Top 8 Rushing Teams in SEC vs Top 8 Rushing Pac-10 teams showed the SEC only had 5-8 more rushes per game than Pac-10.
I do not know if it is just people biased, homerism or what. Gerhart would have been equally deserving of Heisman and no one is discounting what Ingram has done.
