I wasn't even itching his pants yet so I don't know.

He say they gave up 14 points in one game, and then gave up only 17 points combined in all the other games that season. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

The 1959 Ole Miss team is one of the best teams ever to lace them up.

Had you Dad seen LSU play bama that year, he would have known that LSU would have beaten them.

LSU shared the SEC title, destroyed Colorado in the Orange Bowl, and would have beaten Bama. LSU left half the team home with the flu and lost the opening game to Rice, and then gave up 34 points the remainder of the season.....

Oh well, we held Cannon to 8 yards in the Sugar Bowl.

There was only 25 points scored on them all year. I'm sure your dad is right. They never had more than one touchdown scored on them by any team.

*They beat a truly great Arkansas team that year by a touchdown. (10-3)

Thanks. This was probably a part of the reason why they quit inviting Southern teams to the Rose Bowl. Thanks.

You're in Huntsville. Billy Neighbors is a financial advisor up there. Go ask him. A bit of a warning though. If you don't agree with him, he still could kick your arse at age 70.

The 2009 Bama team would destroy the 1961 Bama team by about 70 to nothing.
