Mack was 69-46-1 at UNC when the ACC was arguably a worse conference that it is now (1988-1997). That's a 0.5991 winning percentage...a number that would likely get you fired in the SEC.

I think he's an adequate coach and he should have done better at UT than he's done.

They were becoming a powerful program before he left. Had two seasons IIRC before he left that had them competing with FSU for the title.
