Any coach that quadruples the revenue of the athletic program is worth $5M / year. Think of it as that is his commission. I have ZERO problem with him getting paid.

What's funny is that a bunch of professors at UT sent letters to the President of the University asking why he was getting paid so much.

Uh, the athletic foundation is completely separte from the university and it's state allocated money.

PAY THE MAN.

It's hard to say he is overrated by the media. His name is very rarely brought up when talking about the top coaches in the country. More often than not that list includes Meyer, Carroll, Saban. And that is probably very unfair.

If Brown had not won his lone National Championship it would be hard to make a case for him to be considered an elite coach. BUT, he does have one and his teams win a lot.

Bobby Bowden only won 3 in 24542353 years at FSU, is he overrated too? Stretch Brown's success over a 20-25 years span and you'd have to figure he'd have at least 3.

I live in Cookeville, TN - Mack's hometown, so maybe I'm biased, but I think he is a great coach. Elite? Maybe he does need to win another title, but maybe not.
