Mississippi HS player of the year Dylan Favre just committed to Mississippi State tonight at the Offense Defense all American game.

He's really short but worth a risk IMO. I mean his last name is Favre.

I thought he had already committed to USM.

It's just awesome having a QB with the last name Favre. That alone will give as national recognition along with a couple more televised games.

I hope he gets some PT in the years he is there. He has talent. Too bad he's REALLY short.

Kid is really short and has attitude problems, but is a pretty decent QB.

If he red-shirts his freshman year, he could possibly be our starting QB when State renews our series with Southern Miss (where his Uncle Brett playes) in 2014

81 Total Touchdowns (63 passing 18 rushing his senior year ) is hard to ignore whether your 6'5" or 5'5". Favre is 5'11 and will be a good fit in Mullen's offense. This season he led his HS team to the MS 4A state championship and was the Mississippi player or the year.

Congratulations on the commitment.

VERY underrated recruit due to his height, but kid is a competitor and has broken ever single passing record in Mississippi HS football history.

does he have an SEC arm? or was it a gimmick offense?

The defensive lines in College are a lot taller than high school teams. The height thing will show up more than in the past.
How can the Miss. Player of the Year be a two star?

Gimmick Offense, but this kid is the real deal trust me. He can make plays. He played both ways all season and in the state championship he passed for over 350yds 4Tds and made 14 tackles on defense and had an interception.

So why is he only a 2 star? Maybe he should have been listed as an athlete.

Because he's 5'8"
He shouldn't be playing SEC football, but sometimes you gotta make gambles on diamonds in the rough.

Lack of offers
He only was offered by Mississippi State, Tulane, USM, and Florida International.
I doubt he ever plays much at Mississippi state, but what the hell does it hurt to sign the all time leasing passer in MS HS history who happens to have an uncle who is the greatest QB in NFL history.
