Stop by and Say Thanks to Alabama

I started this thread so others could stop by and offer their thanks to the University of Alabama for all they have done for the SEC.
From that first Rose Bowl appearance in 1926, when the train actually had to stop in New Orleans to pick up the LSU atheletic director because he wanted to go with us, to tie with Stanford in 1927. A Stanford team coach by "Pop" Warner met the Crimson Tide of Alabama and played to a 7-7 tie in what was the first football game broadcast over radio, another first for Alabama.
The 1946 Rose Bowl was the last due to the fact that they were tired of Alabama beating the shite out of some pack of pussies on the west coast. The consistent beatings Alabama was putting on the west coast teams is what truly put the South on the map with respect to football.
Just remember that when y'all beat up on us, call us names or say we are braggadocios with our swaggering self aggrandizement... that...well...it's true, we are really that good.
Go back in time, do a little research and read about the history and tradition that is Alabama football and then run on back over here to ole scoops thread and give a big ole thank you to the Crimson Tide.
Remember that we were happy to bring y'all along with us and we asked for nothing in return. Each of you should be proud January 7th when those Crimson jersey's run onto that field and you should feel that a little bit of your team is on that field with them.
I will not have time to respond individually to each and every thank you that will follow in this thread that I can only assume will reach 100 or so pages so I will just say one big, heart felt...

Sportsnation did a poll early in season as to where they thought AU was - they voted 35% Georgia ,35% Alabama and 30% Washington.

People know where Alabama is, most couldn't find Tuscaloosa on a map either. We owe Alabama jack shite. I sure am glad Gumps are still obsessed with every one but Texas. Reminds me of last years game. Think Texas is beat before the trip is made.

Not me I was skeered of Utah... like I am Texas....agreed our fan base leaves alot to be desired it's a multitude thing... and saban rightly through fans under bus last yr as cns should this yr.

Thank you Alabama for all that you do to prop up what is the Southeastern Conference. And I thank you as well Scoop for starting this thread. A day went by yesterday where the greatness that is Crimson Tide football started to dim in my mind. And for that I apologize profusely. It is posts like this that make hating Bama so worthwhile and so fun.
