Urban Meyer is denying rumors that receivers coach Billy Gonzalez was let go because he knew of a birthday party at which defensive end Carlos Dunlap got loaded (only to be hit with a DUI afterward). “That’s absolutely not true. … Billy left because he was passed up last year for the offensive coordinator’s job. It was about the title.” Gonzalez will be LSU’s passing game coordinator.

If all those underclassmen declare, Florida could drop 3-4 games next year.

Leaving early would not be in the best interest of Rainey or Black.

Florida will struggle next year to win the East.

Kinda depends. Without Teblow and all those other guys they might decide this year is the best chance they've got before the bottom drops out at least for a couple of years.
If all those dudes go, Florida is in trouble next year.

What would you consider the bottom dropping out? Record wise.

See LSU in 08-09.

Isn't Rainey a RB? A RB should always go pro asap.

I was trying to be funny, somewhat. We were not far from having a 6-6 season this year. We needed an amazing goal line stand against Moo State, a gift from the referees at Athens, and more last minute heroics at home against the Hogs to avoid it.

At most Florida will have 6 returners on D and 8 on O. Dunlap's father has stated that Carlos is their for an education. Now, we all know how that goes, but realistically I say Dunlap goes leaving Florida with 5 returners on Defense. On offense, we lose Tebow, Cooper, and Hernandez for sure. Possibly the Pouncey twins. Although, if they return for one more year, I could realistically see them both being 1st rd picks. As for now, only Ma. Pouncey is being seen as a LATE 1st rd pick. More than likely 2nd or 3rd rd.
Florida will run more of a run and shoot style of offense with Brantley. The loss of Cooper and Hernandez seem huge, but Brantley will get everybody involved unlike Tebow. It's expected among Gator Nation that the offense actually put up better numbers with Brantley instead of Tebow next year. Look for more of a Utah type spread next year, with Brantley winging it all over the field.
Defense will be another story. Florida's D next year will more than likely drop to the middle of the pack losing over half of the starters. Worried about the defense a little, but I truly expect Florida to reload on D, not rebuild. I see Florida's D being ranked anywhere from 3-6 in the SEC next year. IMO the D won't be counted on to win games like it was this year. The O will be expected to put up big numbers to win games. Best case scenario next year for Florida is 11 wins before the bowl game. Although, I can see a 9 win season as well.

Billy left for LSU because knowing how to get to the party is one of the job requirements of the Tiger staff.
I'M KIDDING!

^Do you really think either of these guys get drafted? Let me answer this for you, at this point, NO!

quote:Georgia got a flag on them for the same thing, and having a last minute heroic over a good SEC team isnt a bad thing, hell Florida almost lost to them. You can look at it as we were not far from having a 6-6 season, but we were also not far from having an 11-1 season.
