Maybe not but Saban did take over a probation riddled Michigan State program and had them playing in a new year's day bowl within five years. South Carolina has a ton of high school talent. If Saban coached there, he would keep most of that talent in-state and have South Carolina in position to win 9-10 games a year.

I don't see how anyone can necessarily think that since both Lou Hotlz and Steve Spurrier have coached there and haven't done something truly great. It is a average program with limited resources and the hardest conference.
