There WERE no 'major organizations for that time'.

The AP/UPI/BCS didn't exist back then but there were organizations awarding teams for undefeated seasons. We were undefeated in 1925, 1926, 1930, and 1934 (won the Rose Bowl that year as well). There were some other undefeated teams those years but they didn't have as many wins as Bama did (except 1930 when we and ND were 10-0).

All I'm saying is that those teams were great and done exactly what they were suppose to do to go undefeated. If the University wants to hang a banner in their honor, so be it.

If we went back in time to before 1936 and AU went undefeated and won the major bowl, would you want your University to hang a banner and give kudos to those young men?

Fine, hang a banner. It can say "1925 Rose Bowl Champions".

Why does it have to be any more than that? More importantly, why was it no more than that until after Bryant died, when UA starting retroactively claiming those as NCs?

rolltide1283.....AU did go undefeated in 1910, 13 and 14 but we don't claim it.
