Eric Berry shouldn't be 1st Team All-SEC

Because the Vols are 5-5.
Sounds stupid, right? This is the logic used by many on this board to grant Tebow 1st Team All-SEC over Mallett, despite Mallett having superior numbers.

Honestly I agree that Tebow will win it just because of hype.
Look at the Heisman race right now. Colt McCoy and Tim Tebow are two of the frontrunners based only on their preseason hype and the team record. They haven't been the best QB's in America.
The awards are a popularity contest and a joke.

Florida succeeds or doesn't according to one person's play. That's Tim Tebow. That's why he is better. All the intangible things of being a great college QB and leader...
For the record I hate the Tebow knob slobbing too... but credit is due where credit is due.

WooPig, you can't equate post season awards with who actually is the "best player" and should be named 1st team all SEC because there are just too many variables that go into what constitutes "1st Team”.
I'm as big of a Mallet Fan as there is (just look at my posts as early as last spring when I saw him first hand) but he shouldn't be named 1st team all SEC. That award should go to Tebow. That doesn't mean that if I were starting a football team from scratch that I wouldn't take Mallet over Tebow because I would but Tebow deserves to be 1st team all SEC this year.
Mallett will be back with the Hogs next year and he will get his shot at being 1st team all SEC then. Your campaign to convince posters that Mallet should be 1st team All SEC is admirable but it's time to move on. It' not going to happen.
