Does LSU no longer send the entire Tiger band to away games?

I talked up the Tiger band for days to my son before the game on Saturday, telling him how loud both bands would be and what a great atmosphere it would be. Then we get to the game & LSU brings what looked like less than half of the Tiger band. I've always like the LSU band, and hated to see such a small showing on one of the biggest games of the season..

because of budget cuts we didn't send the full band to any away games this year. hopefully it's just a 1 year hiatus.

Lsu can't afford it, even though fans have to pay through the nose for season tickets.

I believe they send their traveling band with a few exceptions like going down to New Orleans. They are the best band based on the head to head competitions they win. They are also in the middle of a major capital campaign to raise money for a new band room that they most desperately need.

you are correct.. it was only a pep band.. it took an all out revolt to force them to send even a pep band to Washington..

I didn't knwo any school sent the full band anywhere. Auburn used to send the full band when we would play Florida, because they would go a day early and march in the parades at Disney on Friday. Now though, the full band is 400 people. I was surprised we took as many as we did to Knoxville - maybe 200 members made that trip.
