The Crowd looked more like it was going for a Multi-Color Out.

I wouldn't want to do it for a big game... Ever since we blew UGA out on their black out, I don't believe in jerseys or colors having any sort of an effect on the game... BUT
i would love to see bryant denny stadium completely crimsoned OUT.
<not to threadjack, but i didn't want to start a whole thread about doing a crimson out at BDS>

Ol' Billy Mays was lamenting this fact in Oxford. That was kind of "interesting".

We never wear the colors they ask us to. It's just how we roll.
The team wearing red was obviously a fail between our team and the athletic department. But we're done similar embarrassing things on gamedays, i.e. afternoon fireworks against Arkansas 2 years ago.

Fwiw I don't think it would work at Alabama, either. They've tried to do it for basketball games before, even passing out shirts to the bottom 5-10 rows, and while most put them on, it's one of those things where if it's not 100% (or at least very close to it) it doesn't look right.
I'm amazed at how UGA and Penn State get the fans to buy-in so well, honestly.

It looked like the student section gave it a good shot. However, there are just too many shades of blue for them to figure it out I guess. The frat-daddy crowd all had on the light blue button downs, and everybody else seemed to have on navy or even black. It was quite strange.

"Blowout" or "Blue Out"?

Penn State isn't fratty, so they wear t-shirts and such to games anyway. UGA has their fair share of nerds, so they'll buy into the color thing. The weather, the ratio of country clubbers to GDIs, and athletic department marketing also play key roles.

white out always works at state unless its raining. it works for basketball pretty well. i was in oxford and there was an equal share of all three colors. the rain had a lot to do with it, but you can't tell people who take pride in dressing up what color to wear.

this. We don't have enough GDIs to accomplish a blueout.
